What is "Zen"?

Is it simply sitting in silence? Is it clearing your mind of all thoughts?

After deeply exploring and contemplating Zen through my own experience, the answer I arrived at was simple: Zen is stripped-down simplicity—letting go of all the noise to return to your raw, authentic self in the present moment.

Every day, we carry so much noise—information, endless thoughts, and daily stress. When our minds get overcrowded with regrets of the past or anxiety about the future, our breathing becomes shallow, and our body and mind lose their harmony.

That is why I created 369 Zen Circle: a sacred space designed to completely reset your mind, body, and soul.

Today, I want to share the story behind this vision—a journey woven with my ancestral roots, love, sound, and the deep realization that we are all interconnected.

August 11th: A Synchronicity from the Same Star

August 11th is a miraculous day in my life. It is my beloved husband’s birthday, and at the same time, it is my dear mother’s birthday back in Japan.

Born on the very same day—along with my father, I have always felt that we all originated from the same star and arrived here together. There was a cosmic marker guiding us all along.

My mother in Japan has been hard of hearing since I was little. Hoping to help her hear, my father had her undergo two surgeries, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful, and she has worn hearing aids ever since.

Because words couldn't easily reach her as sounds, my mother and I communicated through exchange journals and handwritten letters from the time I was a young girl. Because we poured our hearts into written words to connect with each other, we have never had a single argument in our entire lives.

When I was little, my mother gave me a beautiful wish: “Please talk to many people and enjoy your life to the fullest.”

Coming from someone who lived in quietness, those words carried her deepest love and blessing.

Two Gifts from My Parents: Artistry and Music

My mother was incredibly skilled with her hands—she loved handcrafts and sewing. I still vividly cherish the warm memories of making tiny doll clothes with her when I was a child.

My father, on the other hand, was deeply passionate about music. At home, he was always singing, listening to music, or playing an instrument.

My mother’s delicate craftsmanship and my father’s profound love for music. I inherited both of these gifts directly from them. I grew up playing the piano, engaging in handcrafts, and cultivating countless creative hobbies.

My father’s legacy became my passion for the healing power of sound and frequencies. My mother’s legacy became my love for the warmth of written words, journaling, and papercrafts.

The custom journals I design today and the scrapbooking workshops I host all trace back to those precious childhood moments spent opening exchange journals and creating doll clothes with my mother.

Ancestral Healing and the Truth Found 10 Generations Back

The healing I offer at 369 Zen Circle is not just a technique; it is an ancestral healing modality passed down through my lineage, living within my body and soul.

As I sat down with my journal recently, I began tracing my lineage and calculating my ancestors:

Go back 3 generations, and there are 14 ancestors. Go back 10 generations (just 200 to 300 years ago in the Edo period), and there are over 2,000 ancestors who handed down the baton of life so that I could exist today.

Each generation expands like a grand fan, filled with thousands of lives and stories.

But what happens if we rewind time even further—to the origin of humanity, the birth of planet Earth, and the beginning of the universe?

That vast, expanding web of ancestors begins to contract back inward, eventually converging into one single point: the very first pair of lovers (the initial light of love).

Carrying Fragments of Earth: Why We Shed Tears

When the universe (or Earth) exploded into existence with a "Bang!", every single one of us descended to this world carrying a tiny fragment of that original Earth in our hearts.

Our minds, our souls—they were all once part of One Great Life.

Have you ever wondered why we shed tears while watching a poignant scene in a movie? The person on screen might be a stranger, and the story might be fictional. Yet, our hearts ache and tears flow naturally.

We cry because, deep down at our roots, we share the exact same feelings and memories.

The heartache of loss, the tenderness of love, the longing for connection. The fragment of Earth within our chest resonates with the story, whispering, "I know this pain. I know this love."

Tears are the soul's gentle reminder that we have been deeply connected all along.

Sound Baths & Frequencies: A Birthday Gift of "Light and Sound"

To help people recall this memory of oneness and release their senses, I carefully select the sound sources for my 369 sessions by measuring their exact frequencies (432Hz, 528Hz, 963Hz).

To allow the sound bath to penetrate deeply into every cell, we first loosen the body through gentle stretching, flow sacred Reiki energy, and then transition into deep meditation.

On my husband Mike’s birthday, the two of us spent a quiet evening together. We dimmed the room lights to a soft, soothing glow, sat together on the sofa, and immersed ourselves in a 2-hour Joe Hisaishi concert.

Listening to those breathtaking melodies amidst the gentle gradients of shadow and light, I received a profound realization—a direct transmission from my ancestors and the universe:

What level of lighting, and what qualities of sound, allow a human soul to heal at its deepest layer?

It was a sacred, unforgettable experience that felt like receiving the master key to designing the ultimate healing space.

Healing Is Contagious: When You Heal, the World Heals

There is one fundamental principle at the heart of 369 Zen Circle:

Healing is contagious.

When you step into this Zen space—surrounded by the rhythmic resonance of the Mokugyo (wooden fish drum), the purifying scent of Zuko incense, the flow of Reiki, and the pineal-activating sound bath—your nervous system relaxes, and your inner frequency shifts.

When you are genuinely nourished and deeply healed, that peaceful vibration doesn't stop with you. It ripples outward like waves on water.

It touches the way you speak to your family when you return home, the warmth in your eyes when you look at your partner, and the calm energy you bring into the world.

Your deep personal healing is the greatest gift and power you can offer to heal dozens, or even hundreds, of people around you.

Returning to the Origin of Love

From the ancestral healing passed down through my bloodline, to the dual gifts of music and handcrafts from my parents, to the realization that we all hold a piece of the same original Earth—everything I have pursued is woven into 369 Zen Circle.

This is more than a wellness session; it is a space to create your own "radiant center of light" and record your journey of self-love in your journal.

Let us return to the original light of love together. I deeply look forward to welcoming you and sharing this breath of the soul.

With love and gratitude,

Kazumi
